CONFIDENTIAL
No. 1.
[June 10.]
SECTION 1.
(No. 126.) Sir,
The Marquess of Lansdowne to Sir E. Satow.
Foreign Office, June 10, 1905, I HAVE considered, in communication with the Secretary of State for India, your despatch No. 112 of the 4th April last respecting the refusal of the Chinese Government to recognize the provisional line laid down by Sir George Scott on the Nating-Nalawt section of the Burmah-China frontier, and I approve your suggestion that the note on the subject from the Chinese Government of the 30th March last should be ignored for the present.
The Government of India have been informed that your proposal has been approved, and they have been requested at the same time to take such measures as are possible to exercise supervision over the provisional boundary.
I am, &c.
(Signed) LANSDOWNE.
